Ingrid Aall

Ingrid Aall is Professor Emerita at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), where she taught History of Art and History of Culture/Religion in the Department of Art and the Department of Asian and Asian-American Studies. In addition to developing a General Education course in Cross Cultural Visual Literacy, she has conducted seminars on Problems of Contemporary Indian and Chinese Painting, Global Perspectives in Contemporary Popular Art, and Methodology.

Dr. Aall trained as an artist at the Oslo National Academy of Art, received a BA in Psychology and Aesthetics from the University of Oslo, an MA in Philosophy from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in History of Culture from the University of Chicago. She has presented papers and given lectures at universities in Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China, England, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Malta, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Thailand, and the United States.

Currently residing in California, Dr. Aall continues to travel, lecture and conduct workshops in the United States and abroad.
